If you have high arches, then you are familiar with the aches associated with wearing the wrong shoes. Most shoes sold today assume that everyone has flat or neutral arches. If you have high arches or Plantar Fasciitis, it takes more effort to find the right shoe.

There are plenty of stunning shoes out there that are suitable for high arches. Because you probably wear different types of shoes for each occasion, I have tested the best sandals, sneakers, and much more in my guide to the Best Arch Support Shoes of the year.
The question is, do you need light support or do you need the best support? And what are the best plantar fasciitis shoes? Keep reading for my favorite shoes with arch support…
SANDALS
Circus by Sam Edelman ‘Danielle’ Sandal

Arch Support?
Why they’re good?
With a comfortable insole and a slight heel, these slide sandals are easy to wear. The arch support is light and is good if you only need a gentle lift.
My full review
I’ve always loved the high-end look of Sam Edelman shoes, so when I heard that there was a trendy spinoff line, I was very interested. “Circus” is the trendier and edgier line by Sam Edelman. It also happens to be a little cheaper, so if you want to enjoy today’s trends without paying heavily, you will love the Circus line.
The sandals come in 6 colors – golden yellow, golden caramel, pink magenta, black, candy red, and denim blue. They feature a comfortable two-strap design, which keeps your foot from falling out when walking.
The shoe is an average width and has a comfy footbed. The arch support is light, but definitely feels more comfortable than wearing completely flat shoes without a heel.
Wear them with casual or dressed up looks, since these are a classic and versatile style.

Arch Support?
Why they’re good?
If you have foot pains, I definitely recommend trying these. My sister has plantar fasciitis and she adored them. They are so lightweight and comfortable to wear and the arch support is outstanding. The stylish colors are lovely too.
My full review
Can a woman have too many pairs of sandals? Because these beauties from Clark’s are just my kind of sandal. The shoes that I tend to wear are supportive, so I’m always on the lookout for comfortable and pretty shoes that don’t give me pain after a few hours. For that reason, I simply love these sandals from Clark’s. They offer plenty of support and make walking comfortable and secure.
They’re available in sixteen lovely colors, so you’re bound to find one you like. These sandals are soft and lightweight. The adjustable strap makes it easy to adjust them for a perfect fit. I don’t have to readjust my foot as I walk, the way other flip flops sometimes make me do. They feel secure and easy to walk in.
Dansko Jacinda Sandal

Arch support?
Why are they good?
These sandals by Dansko are so stylish and perfect for the summer, whether you’re on vacation or out and about. Achy arches feel supported in these clog-style sandals, thanks to their comfortable insole. I recommend that you try them if you have Plantar Fasciitis.
My full review
These feminine sandals from Dansko are available in six classic colors – taupe, blush, walnut, caramel, navy, and black. Each color is flattering and can easily be coordinated with different outfits.
In terms of the fit, I would recommend these if you have wide feet. The front strap is a little loose for me, but a friend of mine who has wide feet thought they fit her perfectly.
The sandal sits on a 1-inch platform and gently rises to a 2.25-inch heel. So, although they’re over 2 inches high, it really only feels like 1.25 inches tall. That’s pretty great if you ask this average-height woman.
Although the platform heel looks heavy, it’s actually made of a light man-made material. It makes the shoe feel very light and easy to wear.
I found the ankle strap easy to adjust to my ankles and could easily be worn by average to thick ankles. The upper part of the sandal is made of leather, which feels comfortable.
Keen Rose Sandal

Arch support?
Why they’re good?
For the outdoorsy gals out there or those who like sporty shoes, these lightweight sandals from Keen are great. They have good arch support as well. If you have really high arches, I’d add an insole to these.
My full review
Keen is known around the world for making comfortable shoes that are ready for any outdoor adventure. Whether that means going on a hike, or walking in the city, the Rose Sandal from Keen can do both gracefully.
Designed especially for women, these sandals give you comfort and support in all the right places. A rubber bumper at the toe, keeps your toes safe and protected. These can be used in wet weather and are completely washable.
The classic design makes these sandals pretty versatile and goes with a variety of outfits. They come in many colors from bright to subtle.
As a pretty practical and well-designed shoe, these are also really elegant and versatile. As someone who is eco-friendly, I like to buy shoes that’ll last me many years and these will do that. I found them to be very comfortable and kept my foot supported in all the right places.
Gold Pigeon Comfort Sandals

Arch support?
Why are they good?
Combining arch support with a shock-absorbing sole, these rugged sandals can be worn at the mall or at the park. The adjustable straps make sure that they fit perfectly.
My full review
If you’re looking for a breezy sandal you can throw on wherever you are, this is a lovely choice. With three adjustable straps, adjusting these shoes to your foot is simple. I noticed the ankle straps can be widened quite a bit, so if you need the extra room it will fit you well.
Sandals like these can get a little dirty after a while, but these are washable so can be cleaned when it’s needed. The open design doesn’t stop these from being used on a wet day. These are also waterproof and made of BPA-free plastic material.
These sandals reminded me of a pair of Clark’s shoes I have, actually. I love my Clark’s for comfort, but they can be a bit on the pricey side. So these were a nice surprise when you consider the reasonable price.
SNEAKERS
Dansko Honor Sneaker

Arch support?
Why are they good?
From the leaders in comfortable shoes, come these pretty sneakers from Dansko shoes. They feature built-in arch support and a removable memory foam insole. They’re so good to feet that they’ve even received an award for good foot health from the American Podiatric Medical Association.
My full review
Unless you read the specifications, you would not know that these are orthopedic shoes. They don’t look like a practical shoe to me, but in fact a cool sneaker.
The arch support is good, so would be suitable for you if you normally get achy arches. However, if you have really high arches, I suggest that you try the Helen style from Dansko instead.
The sneakers are made of leather, which has been treated with 3M Scotchgard for stain resistance. Of the nine colors available, the Rose is my favorite. Had it not been for the Scotchgard I would have been a little worried about staining these, but it’s already been treated with stain protector.
On the outside, the shoes have mesh panels, which make them feel cool after a long day of walking.
In terms of the fit, I found that these run a little on the narrow side, so if you have wide feet these will probably be a little too snug.
Adidas Pureboost Xpose Running Shoe

Arch support?
Why are they good?
The free-floating arch, combined with the superior cushioning makes these a real treat if you have high arches. If you are looking for running shoes with arch support, I recommend these.
My full review
Finding running shoes that have high arches is tricky. Luckily, Adidas has designed a quirky shoe that not only looks great, but also has a supportive arch. The free-floating arch is unique and feels like a spongey sock underfoot.
The flexible design bends with your feet, so you feel comfortable all day long, whether you are running or walking. I couldn’t believe how comfortable these shoes were.
Another interesting design feature is that it does not have a shoe tongue. You know, that flat bit that sits under the laces. It adds to the comfort of these shoes, because you don’t have to adjust the tongue when putting the shoe on. They slide onto your foot without any fuss.
I found that these shoes are true to size, so go ahead and order your regular shoe size.

Arch support?
Why are they good?
With a triple-density EVA footbed that molds to your foot for perfect arch support, these sneakers are a dream to wear. If you are looking for walking shoes with arch support, these are great.
My full review
When you are standing for hours at a time or have a long day of walking, you need a shoe that will make you forget you are wearing them. These shoes are so comfortable, that you will not think about any pains or aches that usually plague you.
The insole is comfortable and has great arch support. However, if for some reason you want to use your own insole, the built-in insole is completely removable.
The diamond pattern on the outside not only looks attractive, but it also adds breathability to the sneaker. My favorite color is the sage green, but this shoe is also available in black, walnut, white, rose, blue, mustard, and red. The finishes are either in suede or leather depending on the color.
I like that the laces are quite high up, which makes your ankle feel more supported than most low rise sneakers. I can see these sneakers working great as lightweight travel shoes. With the sturdy rubber soles and the memory foam insoles, these will be a great travel companion.

Arch support?
Why are they good?
Another orthopedic shoe that looks pretty, these shoes from Vionic are well designed for comfort. The arch support and combination of comfortable materials, make these supportive shoes great whether you have plantar fasciitis or not.
My full review
Vionic has always designed shoes that are comfortable first and attractive second. For many of us, comfort is always the most important factor when buying shoes. And if you are like many people who need arch support, that is a huge factor when buying shoes. These are the best shoes for high arches, so give these a try.
The shoes have great arch support and feel lightweight and flexible to wear as well. They are suitable if you have wide feet or need room for bunions, these will do the trick.
Oxford Shoes
Dansko Louise Oxford

Arch support?
Why are they good?
Designed by the specialty shoe company Dansko, these pretty Oxford shoes smarten up any outfit. It features a removable, contoured triple-density insole, that has cushioned arch support. The heel is 1.25 inches high, but if you include the .25 inch platform, these shoes feel more like 1-inch high to your foot. If you’re in search of women’s dress shoes with arch support, these are good.
My full review
Oxford shoes are the perfect blend of elegance with a touch of masculinity. They look good with skirts and dresses, but are also at home paired with trousers and jeans.
In terms of fit, they are more suitable if you have wide feet. I also recommend that you order the size down, since they are a bit long.
The shoes are made of leather, which makes them naturally breathable and will mold to your foot with each wear. The outsole is made of hard-wearing rubber, so these shoes can be used on smooth and rugged surfaces without an issue. As a little bit of extra protection for the leather heal, it has been treated with Scotchgard protector.
These Oxfords come in four classic colors – black, stone-burnished nappa (dark grey), taupe-burnished nappa (aged brown), and sand-nurnished nappa (cream). Only the cream colored version has a perforated body, which I like the best.
Cole Haan Women’s Wingtip Oxford

Arch support?
Why are they good?
Combining a hot trend with a classic British style, these sneakers are an interesting marriage of old and new. The knit uppers are really detailed and mimic the design of a wingtip Oxford shoe. The arch is good and the shoe is comfortable. Because of the stretchy exterior, you can add your own insole without affecting the fit.
My full review
Available in five colors, the Zerogrand Stitchlite from Cole Haan is an eye-catching shoe that is also comfortable. My favorite color is the blue, but they also come in pink, black, burgundy, and white.
Some women find the classic Oxford design a little too masculine for their tastes, so this knit design softens the typical Oxford-shoe appearance. They can be worn with dresses, jeans, and trousers. The detailed-design elevates the shoe from just your average sneaker.
I would recommend buying a half-size smaller than your normal size because they will stretch a tiny bit over time. As you would expect, the knit material is very breathable and comfortable to wear. The tightness of the weave changes depending on the area of the foot and has been designed to respond to each specific part of your foot.
The cushioning in the insole is made of EVA foam that molds to your foot. Overall I found this shoe to be very lightweight, with a flexible outer sole.
Summary
There’s no such thing as one size fits all when it comes to shoes. We all have different needs for something we do everyday – walking! For many of us, that means finding shoes with good arch support.
I hope you’ve gotten some good tips and maybe even found your perfect shoe. I’ve also got a post on shoe insoles, so give that a read if you’re looking for more information about arch support.
